25 Inspiring Quotes Teachers Always Need to Hear [Infographic]

Are you a quote reader? If so, what are some of your favourites? What is it about them you love? Quotes are often history's way of providing us with teachable moments. Also, it's kind of uncanny how they sometimes seem to show up at just the right times.

We've shared inspiring quotes with you before, but it's not easy to say them all. That's why we're happy to turn to infographics like this one from AAA State of Play. It's called 25 Inspirational Quotes for Teachers, sourced from E-Learning Infographics.

Here's what they had to say about AAA's wonderful infographic of inspiring quotes:

"Teachers work hard everyday to empower and enrich the lives of children. They play an active and vital role in shaping a dynamic, bright, and innovative future for everyone. It’s a labor of love – they deserve appreciation and admiration for the valiant efforts they make to empower kids!"

We couldn't agree more. We love teachers and how they enrich lives with their passion and dedication to great learning experiences for our kids.

Why We Love Quotes

A few years ago, Fast Company featured an article called The Science Behind Why Inspirational Quotes Motivate Us. It explained some of the scientific reasoning behind why inspirational quotes resonate so strongly with people. Here's what they discovered:

"Depending on whom you ask, the appeal appears to lie in a combination of good wordsmithing, motivational psychology, and a measure of self-selection ... the message that someone else believes you can achieve what you want to achieve can be a powerful incentive to try harder ... Words from recognized leaders in business, politics, and the arts may also hold more gravitas because of the assumption that when people are in public positions, they must be accomplished, wise, or otherwise exceptional to have achieved those positions. Those perceptions can make messages from such leaders more powerful."

Another article from Creative Live, Mantras Matter: Why We Love Inspirational Quotes So Much, had this to say about our affection for quotation:

" ... what we do know is that there’s a kind of feedback loop of ideas — or, more simply, ideas create other ideas ... This is why brainstorming with others can be really effective, and why reading the thoughts (and, specifically, quotes) of others is so inspirational ... in a way, reading quotes is kind of like having a conversation with friends — only it can be done alone, and any time you need it."

Finally, we have these words from the Train article Do Motivational Quotes Work?:

"The great thing about humans is that we’re aspirational. We constantly want to improve. In 1987, Edward Higgins came up with the self-discrepancy theory. It argues that we have three types of self: the ideal self, the ought self and our actual self. Our ideal self encourages us to take action to get closer to that state and our ought self prevents our actual self leading away from it. Perhaps then, a well-placed motivational pick me up could be just the thing to remind us that our hard work to become our ideal self, is worth it."

So there you have it—generally, inspirational quotes touch us many deeply personal levels. They guide us in times of uncertainty, and give us the words we didn't know we needed to hear. When we read them we are reminded that others, even far back in history, suffered once as we do now. Thus, the wisdom embodied in that timeless saying is what they gained from it.
